Reprogramming & Scene Updates
Has your home or business changed but your C-Bus programming hasn't kept up? We update scenes, schedules, and logic to match how you use the space today. If the original programmer is no longer available, we can recover the project file directly from the network and work from that — no need to start from scratch in most cases.

Parts Replacement
Replacing a dimmer module, relay channel, keypad, Wiser Air touch screen, or DIN rail power supply — we carry the most common C-Bus parts and can source specific modules quickly. All replaced hardware is tested end-to-end before we leave. We use genuine Clipsal components wherever available.

These are the most frequent faults our Sydney clients call about. Not sure what's wrong with your system? Use our free C-Bus Fault Finder for a guided diagnosis.
LED Lights Glowing or Flickering When Off
The most common C-Bus fault in Sydney homes that have upgraded to LED downlights. C-Bus dimmers were designed for halogen loads — the fix involves replacing the dimmer with an LED-compatible module or adjusting the minimum load threshold in C-Bus ToolKit.
Use the fault finder →Keypads or Rooms Not Responding
Could be no mains power at the unit, low C-Bus bus voltage from a failing power supply, a faulty relay or dimmer channel, or a network communication failure affecting multiple zones. We diagnose the exact cause using the C-Bus Network Analyser on-site.
Use the fault finder →Phantom Switching — Lights On/Off By Themselves
Almost always caused by a forgotten schedule, a PIR sensor that's drifted in sensitivity, a logic condition in the project file misfiring, or a third-party device sending rogue commands. The Traffic Analyser identifies the source in minutes.
Use the fault finder →Touch Screen Black or Unresponsive
Usually a power issue — touch screens draw significantly more current than standard keypads. If bus voltage has dropped below the required threshold at the screen location, it will go black even if everything else in the system appears normal.
Use the fault finder →Keypad Indicator Lights Flashing
The classic symptom of a C-Bus network impedance fault — the network's impedance has drifted outside the required 400–1,500 ohm range, usually due to a missing, duplicated, or misplaced network burden. The Network Analyser confirms this instantly.
Use the fault finder →Full System Failure After Power Outage
Complete failure post-outage usually means the C-Bus power supply has been damaged by a voltage surge, or a circuit breaker has tripped and not been reset. Check your switchboard first — if breakers are fine, the power supply module needs testing.
Use the fault finder →C-Bus Repairs & Programming for Commercial Venues
From office fitouts and hospitality venues to sports facilities and strata complexes — we service C-Bus commercial installations across Greater Sydney.
Offices & Commercial Fitouts
C-Bus lighting control is standard in commercial buildings throughout Sydney. We handle fault repairs, scene reprogramming, energy scheduling, and hardware replacement for office environments — minimising disruption to business operations.
Hotels, Hospitality & Event Venues
Lighting atmosphere is critical in hospitality environments. We reprogram C-Bus scenes for different events and service periods, fix faults promptly to minimise downtime, and integrate C-Bus with broader AV and room management systems.
Sports Facilities & Stadiums
Large-venue C-Bus installations require precise network configuration across multiple segments and hundreds of units. We've worked on major Sydney sports facilities and understand the technical demands of high-occupancy C-Bus environments.
Strata & Multi-Residential
Common area C-Bus lighting — foyers, lifts, corridors, carparks — needs reliable scheduled operation and prompt fault resolution. We work with strata managers and building managers across Greater Sydney for both reactive repairs and ongoing maintenance.

C-Bus Specialists — Not Generalists
Cync Electrical is a Sydney-based electrical company that works with C-Bus systems daily. Every technician is trained on the full Clipsal C-Bus platform — not a general electrician who happens to have seen a keypad once.
Why Choose Cync Electrical?
We built our business around C-Bus. Unlike general electricians who treat home automation as a side service, every technician at Cync Electrical works with C-Bus systems daily — faster diagnosis, cleaner repairs, fewer return visits.
We carry the C-Bus Network Analyser, Traffic Analyser, and Diagnostic Utility to every job. This equipment — and the expertise to use it — is what separates a 20-minute diagnosis from a 3-hour guessing session that costs you more money.

C-Bus Questions — Answered by Our Technicians
The questions Sydney homeowners and commercial managers ask us most often. Call 0422 253 379 if yours isn't covered here.
This is the most common C-Bus fault we're called out for. If the keypad has no indicator lights at all, it isn't receiving mains power — check your switchboard for a tripped breaker. Dim indicators mean low C-Bus bus voltage, usually from a long cable run or a failing power supply module. If the keypad looks normal but lights don't respond, the fault is a failed relay or dimmer channel in the DIN rail cabinet, or a group address accidentally cleared from the output unit's programming. When multiple rooms fail simultaneously, the problem is in the C-Bus network itself — typically a missing clock or incorrect impedance. We use the Network Analyser and Diagnostic Utility to confirm the exact cause on-site within the first hour.
The most common C-Bus issue in Sydney homes after an LED upgrade. C-Bus dimmers were designed for halogen loads — when LEDs replace them, the very low minimum load causes residual current to flow at zero, making lights glow. The fix is replacing the dimmer with an LED-compatible module, adjusting the minimum dimming threshold in C-Bus ToolKit software, or adding a small load resistor. We carry LED-compatible modules and typically resolve this in a single visit.
Yes — a significant part of our work is commercial. We service C-Bus installations in office buildings, hospitality venues, hotels, sports facilities, strata complexes, and retail fitouts across Greater Sydney. Commercial C-Bus networks tend to be more complex — larger unit counts, multiple network segments, integration with building management and AV systems — and we're equipped to handle all of it. For commercial jobs we provide written scope and documentation of all changes made.
Yes — and this is extremely common, especially for commercial properties where the original installer is no longer operating. In most cases we can recover the project file directly from the C-Bus network by scanning it with C-Bus ToolKit, giving us a complete map of every unit, group address, scene, and schedule. From that recovered file we make whatever changes are needed. Where full recovery isn't possible we rebuild from scratch using a site walkthrough. We've done this for residential homes and large commercial buildings alike.
Residential C-Bus repair and diagnostic visits start from $295 across Greater Sydney. Simple programming changes are often resolved within that first visit. Hardware replacements incur parts costs on top, quoted before work proceeds. Commercial jobs are quoted on scope before we attend — we'll discuss the work required and provide a clear figure upfront. There are no hidden call-out fees: the starting rate covers arrival, on-site diagnosis, and minor adjustments.
Every C-Bus output unit has a programmable power recovery state — a setting that tells it what to do when mains is restored. If this is set to "on" rather than "off" or "restore last state", every light will turn on at full brightness after any outage. This is a software-only change made in C-Bus ToolKit — no hardware work is needed. In some cases we can apply this change remotely via the C-Bus PC Interface without needing to attend on-site.
